Resident-Led Traffic Calming

2026 Application Cycle

Scoring for the 2026 application cycle is complete. E Rogers RD has been selected for implementation of traffic calming devices. The focus area is between High ST and Sare RD. A public meeting will be held on Thurs Sept 10th in which City staff will present a design and receive feedback from neighbors affected by the change. It will be from 5:30pm-6:30pm in Fireside Room (Door 5) at Sherwood Oaks Church 2700 E Rogers RD.

Application Process

The Resident-Led Process of the Traffic Calming and Greenways Program (TCGP) allows residents to work with the City to manage motor vehicle traffic on residential streets. Traffic calming devices primarily considered for the program include speed cushions and speed humps. 

There is one Resident-Led TCGP cycle every year. The process for the annual cycle is as follows:

2026 Timeline

  1. Request for Projects: May 2026

  2. Letter of Intent Deadline: June 5, 2026

  3. Pre-Application Meeting: June 26, 2026

  4. Application Deadline: July 10, 2026

  5. Application Review: July 2026

  6. Notification of Selected 2026 Project: August 2026

  7. On-Site Public Meeting: Sept 10th 2026. 5:30pm-6:30pm in Fireside Room (Door 5) at Sherwood Oaks Church 2700 E Rogers RD.

  8. Final Public Meeting: Transportation Commission Monday September 28, 2026. 5:30pm in City Hall Council Chambers Rm #115 401 N Morton ST.

  9. Project Installation: Spring - Summer, 2027

Neighborhood Greenways

Neighborhood Greenways are low-speed, low-volume, shared-space streets that create high-comfort walking and bicycling connections. To see which streets are designated as Neighborhood Greenways, check out the Transportation Plan. In order to create a connected network, the City is prioritizing the design and installation of Neighborhood Greenways recommended in the Priority Bicycle Facilities Network. For 2024, several Neighborhood Greenways are in the works. To design and install Neighborhood Greenways, the City follows the Staff-Led Traffic Calming/Neighborhood Greenways Process.
