The City of Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department permits informational tabling at the City of Bloomington Community Farmers’ Market in accordance with the policies outlined below. These policies are intended to support free expression while ensuring public safety, accessibility, and the orderly operation of the Market.
Informational tabling is permitted only at the Saturday Market during the regular season (April through October). Informational tabling is not permitted at the Tuesday Market, the Holiday Market, or the November Market.
Important!
The registering group representative is responsible for ensuring this information is shared with all members of the group who are staffing the information table. If you have questions about the Informational Table Policy, send an email to Clarence Boone or call 812-349-3738.
Authorized Locations – Info Alley
Informational tabling is restricted to designated areas. Two locations are available: one fee-based area within Market boundaries and one no-fee area outside Market boundaries.
Fee-based Area "Info Alley"
- Located on the west side of the Market along the 8th Street entrance near the Market B-Line Café, as indicated on the agreement form map.
- Spaces are delineated by pavement markings and numbered for identification.
- Groups reserving space for the full Market season may be assigned a consistent location. Reserved spaces are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Representatives of approved groups may remain within the immediate area in front of their assigned space for the purpose of distributing materials, collecting signatures, or engaging with patrons.
- Solicitation or engagement activities conducted while moving through the Market are prohibited.
No-Fee Area
- Located east of the B-Line Trail, immediately north of 8th Street, and outside Market boundaries.
- Space is unmarked. Groups must limit their setup to approximately 6 feet by 6 feet and must maintain a minimum clearance of two feet from the trail.
- Market staff at the Information Table may provide assistance with identifying an appropriate location.
Registration and Fees
- All groups must submit a completed informational table agreement form and pay a one-time, nonrefundable $15 registration fee prior to participation.
- The registration fee applies to all groups, regardless of whether the fee-based or no-fee area is used.
Fee-Based Space Reservations
- Groups using the fee-based area may reserve space for the full Market season by paying all remaining Saturday space fees in advance.
- The 2026 Market season consists of 31 Saturday Markets, from April 4 through October 31.
- Informational tabling is not permitted during the Holiday Market or November Market dates.
- The cost to reserve space for all 31 Markets is $310, plus the $15 registration fee, for a total of $325.
- Reservations submitted after the start of the season will be prorated through the final Market date.
Monthly or Weekly Use
- Groups renting space on a monthly or weekly basis must submit materials to the Parks and Recreation Department at least one week prior to participation, or provide materials to Market staff at the Information Table on the first day of participation.
- Market staff will collect applicable space fees during Market hours.
- Groups may prepay for multiple dates; payments will be documented by Market staff.
- Prepayment does not guarantee assignment to the same space for future dates. Consistent space assignment is available only through full-season reservations.
